Tournament Information

Event Details

  • Date: Saturday, March 28th, 2025
  • Time: Youth divisions start at 9:00 AM | Adult divisions in the afternoon
  • Location: Rainier Community Center
    4600 38th Ave S, Seattle, WA 98118
  • Entry Fee: $160 per team
  • Free Agent Registration: $45 per player (we'll place you on a team)
  • Team Size: Minimum 3 players per team
  • Registration Deadline: March 26th or until divisions are full
  • Game Guarantee: 3 games minimum per team

  • 5th & 6th Grade (Co-ed welcome)
  • 7th & 8th Grade (Co-ed welcome)
  • High School (Co-ed welcome)

Adult Division (Afternoon)

  • 18+ Open Division
  • Co-ed teams welcome
  • All skill levels encouraged

Family Friendly

Bring the whole family and enjoy a vibrant festival atmosphere alongside the games. Savor authentic African cuisine, enjoy live cultural performances, and let the kids have fun with face painting, mini games, and prizes throughout the day. It's a celebration of community, culture, and family connection for all ages.

Competitive Play

Organized age-appropriate divisions ensuring competitive and fair matchups. Minimum 3 games guaranteed for every team.

Prizes & Awards

Winners take home trophies! Plus medals for top finishers, gift certificates to local restaurants, raffle prizes throughout the day, and more surprises. Everyone leaves with memories, many leave with prizes!

The Uhoopntu Classic is more than a tournament—it's a call for community. We're bringing together people of all walks of life here in Seattle, united by our love of the game.

Proceeds from this event will fund the construction of a basketball court at Parirerwa Primary School in Domboshava, Zimbabwe, extending the power of basketball across continents.
